One letter from Grahame Bishop and five responses. A cutting from the Seaford Golf Club History and a summary of information from the Bishop History.
The Bishop history was written by Grahame Bishop between 1980 and 1982 with the authorization of LGC committee and directors. Details about the book length and content and progress reports on drafts etc were not discussed apparently. When the final draft was given to the Captain and President in August 1982, requests were made not to make too many changes as it was overdue at the printers. The President Mr W K Clarke and Captain Dr P.A.S. Hargrove said that there were spelling mistakes, grammatical and factual errors, and some parts needed re-writing to improve clarity. In the end the General Committee decided to shelve the history for the time being. This caused great sadness with Grahame Bishop as he said that he wrote what he thought was wanted. The history is available and was a great background help for the editors of the Liphook Story.
